Athletics Advisory Board
The Athletics Advisory Board is a group of alumnae, parents and friends of the college who assist the college in strengthening its athletics program. Board members help to develop strategic priorities and goals and to evaluate progress toward reaching them, identify and cultivate resources and provide advice and input to the college on key decisions including facilities enhancements, sports expansion, marketing and donor recognition.
Board of Visitors
The Board of Visitors is a volunteer board through which a select group of distinguished Atlanta-area corporate and not-for-profit leaders provide advice and support to President Leocadia I. Zak. Members act as ambassadors in their respective communities by advocating the important role of Agnes Scott in higher education and specifically in women’s education, engage in dialogue about the social and intellectual aspects of the college and network with other community leaders to build opportunities for the Agnes Scott community as a whole.
Parents Council
The Parents Council represents all parents and acts as a liaison between parents and the college and its administrators. The council serves to guide current parents toward increased understanding, support and enthusiasm for Agnes Scott and provides a vehicle for improved communication between parents and the college. Parents are a valuable resource for Agnes Scott, and the college provides mutually beneficial ways for them to be involved and contribute to their student's educational experience. Parents Council works through three committees: Communications, Internship and Career Development and Parents Fund.
Public Health Advisory Council
The Public Health Advisory Council is a volunteer group through which distinguished health experts provide advice and support to strengthen Agnes Scott's public health department. Members act as ambassadors to the college and its public health department by advocating the importance of educating Agnes Scott students to become aware of public health issues and to learn methods for improving public health. They advise the vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college and the public health faculty on the academic knowledge and skills that are in demand in the public health workplace; contacts and networks of interest to public health faculty, staff, and students; experiential learning opportunities; and fundraising strategies and opportunities for the public health department.
